Everyone lives by selling something
A while ago I met a young woman starting out in the corporate world. She was bright, well-spoken, funny and an apparent asset to any organisation. At least, those were my thoughts before she told me in no uncertain terms that she “… wasn’t into selling that much.”
Not to put too fine a point on it, but selling is arguably the most important skill you need to have for the survival and growth of your business. No spreadsheet, business plan, SWOT analysis, business book, or anything else will be of any use if you haven’t managed to convince someone else to buy your product or make use of your services.
We’re all selling something
In the young lady’s world, selling was some kind of dark art practised by shady characters who smoke cheap cigarettes and who try to pawn off inferior products to unsuspecting victims in grey parking lots.
In the real world, we are all selling something. (Click here to tweet this)
You were selling something when you asked your wife to marry you. You’re selling something when you tell your kids they can watch the movie once they’ve cleaned their rooms. You’re selling something when you convince your friend to start a business with you.
How to get better at it
Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.
To help you maximise your full sales potential, we teamed up recently with sales and motivational expert and speaker, Andrew Horton. (Viditrainer subscribers will remember Andrew from his interview HERE.)
Andrew is one of the most sought-after sales training experts and motivational speakers in South Africa at the moment. He graciously packed some of his best sales training and motivational ideas into a brilliant webinar just for our subscribers.
(Bear in mind that he usually provides this kind of training only to large corporates at a price.)
